The failure of the Poissy colloquium has a great impact.

The notoriety of Théodore de Bèze is at its highest. His September 9 harangue (speech) (left) is printed in Geneva less than three weeks after it was delivered. It is reprinted thirteen times before the end of the same year and will be translated into German and English.
The second harangue of the adopted Genevan (right), delivered on September 24, has been reissued no less than eight times. Once the Poissy conference was completed, Bèze was retained by Catherine de Medici and then became the principal advisor to the Protestant princes, including Louis de Condé and Gaspard de Coligny.
