Friday March 8, until 8am and for CHF 8.00, the MIR offers a themed tour on the role of women at the time of the Reformation.

The recently transformed MIR’s permanent exhibition bears daily witness to the important, but all too often overlooked, role played by women in the history of the Reformation.

From the 16th century to the present day, women theologians, queens, activists and artists have, each in their own way, expressed a stimulating way of being a woman and a Protestant. Whether their names are Marie Dentière, Germaine de Staël, Aretha Franklin or Leymah Roberta Gbowee, famous or not, these pioneering figures will be in the spotlight on March 8 during themed guided tours organized to mark International Women’s Rights Day.

On March 8, the MIR is exceptionally opening its doors until 8 p.m., with admission for all at the single price of CHF 8.

  • Guided tours in French at 12.30, 2.30, 5.30 and 6.30 p.m.
  • Guided tour in English at 6pm
