The MIR has in its collection this interesting work, the first part of an edition in eight volumes of the complete works of Martin Luther (1483-1546), published in 1560 by the printer Donat Richtzenhain († 1606) in Jena in Germany.

This volume includes the books and writings that the Reformer published between 1517 and 1522. The copy which can be admired at the MIR contains several handwritten annotations. On the title page in red and black ink, an engraving shows Frederick the Wise (1463-1525), Prince-Elector of Saxony and protector of Luther, as well as the latter, kneeling on each side of the crucified Christ.
